People suffering from anorexia disorder view their body image distortedly, seeing their body as fat even if they are already reed-thin. Anorexia disorder is about control, of being perfect and the desire to control things such as strict regulation on weight and food and the belief that they will have high self-esteem if they remain thin.
Bulimia
Bulimia is an eating disorder that is the opposite of anorexia nervosa, although there are some similarities. Bulimia signs include periods of binging and fasting, of overeating and purging. Just like other eating disorders, there are many bulimia signs that can be difficult to assess at first. It will be after the eating disorder is more developed that you will be able to recognize the bulimia signs better.
Binge Eating
Binge eating is not dangerous per se because there are times when a person may occasionally indulge in it and consume an incredible amount of food. However, binge eating becomes dangerous when the binge eating happens frequently and becomes an uncontrollable eating pattern, resulting in binge eating disorder. When a person already suffers from binge eating disorder, the food consumption may be followed by compensatory behavior like heavy exercising, vomiting, use of laxative and fasting.
Compulsive Eating
Compulsive eating disorders can also be characterized as an addiction to food and eating. Even if you are already full from the usual portions of food that you eat every meal, you feel compelled to eat more and binge on what you are eating until you can no longer take any more.
